In short
The Showlane app does not collect or send personal data to the Publisher. It runs on your Mac and has no usage-statistics system. The only connection the app makes on its own is to check a license key bought on Gumroad (see below).
What the app stores on your Mac
Showlane saves these things only on your Mac:
- Preferences and shows: settings, shortcuts, your file list, your shows.
- Trial start date, in the macOS Keychain and in a file under
~/Library/Application Support/MiniPlayer/, to enforce the 7-day trial. - License key, in the macOS Keychain.
- Streaming addresses (which usually include the stream key), in the macOS Keychain.
- Mac ID: an identifier computed locally and shown in the License window; you only share it with the Publisher if you choose to.
None of this is sent to the Publisher.
Services you choose to use
- License check: when you activate a key bought on Gumroad, and then roughly every 7 days while your Mac is online, Showlane sends Gumroad the license key and the product ID to check it is valid and not refunded. The Publisher receives no other data. That processing is governed by Gumroad's own privacy policy (https://gumroad.com/privacy). Keys issued directly by the Publisher (for example, to testers) are checked offline instead.
- Streaming: when you start a broadcast, Showlane sends video and audio to the servers you chose (for example YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or your own SRT server). That processing is governed by those services' own terms and privacy policy.
- Network sources: the app connects to the RTMP/SRT addresses you enter, or listens on a port on your Mac to receive a feed from an encoder (for example OBS).
- Camera and microphone: macOS asks your permission; these are only used for capture cards and cameras used as a source, and are never recorded or sent to the Publisher.
Purchase and support
- Purchase: happens on Gumroad, which sells the product as the "merchant of record" and handles payment and billing data under its own privacy policy (https://gumroad.com/privacy). The Publisher receives from Gumroad the data needed to deliver the license (name, email address, order).
- Key delivery and support: we use your email address to send you the key and to answer your requests.
Purpose and legal basis: performing the contract (delivering your license), complying with legal obligations (accounting and tax), answering your requests. Retention: order data for as long as tax obligations require (in Italy, normally 10 years); support emails for as long as needed to resolve the request. Shared with: Gumroad and, if you use them, our email and accounting providers. We do not sell data. Transfers outside the EU: Gumroad is based in the United States; the transfer is governed by the safeguards described in its own policy.
This website
The showlaneplayout.com website uses no cookies and no analytics. Hosting (Netlify) automatically logs technical access data (for example IP address, requested page, date and time) for security and operational purposes, including when you download the free trial. These logs are handled by Netlify under its own privacy policy (www.netlify.com/privacy).
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection by writing to support@showlaneplayout.com. You can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
Changes
If this policy changes (for example for new app features), we publish it here with the new date.
